We have had some great news recently- Jamie who has one again been back to the lovely people in the Dragons Den aka over at Blackburne House, Liverpool to talk to the panel about our achievements in the past 2 years and our plans to develop the future of Emerge Community Arts.

We have had some great news recently- Jamie who has one again been back to the lovely people in the Dragons Den aka over at Blackburne House, Liverpool to talk to the panel about our achievements in the past 2 years and our plans to develop the future of Emerge Community Arts.
They have accepted us onto the Scale Up: Lloyds Bank Social Entrepreneurs Programme which includes an intensive learning programme, business support and £15,000 to put our plan in place to develop our business and also provide more employment opportunities, so watch this space! In the mean time check out our achievements.

We are just coming up to our 2nd birthday and this is how far Emerge Community Arts has come! In partnership with Adult Learning Wales (WEA YMCA CC Cymru), Communities First Flintshire and Flintshire County Council we now have a regular Interactive Music and Creative Communication project running weekly for Adults who experience profound and complex disabilities and communication differences in Mold, Flintshire. Learners are encouraged to come along with their Communication Aids such as PECS and IPADS to make choices and engage through their interests and having fun!

We also have 1 weekly full day Music and Drama projects running in Flintshire for Adults who have Autism Spectrum Condition and learning differences. These guys now have a fully fledged band called ‘Sound Express’ and highlights have been performing at the North East Wales Diversity Festival and performing their plays at Theatre Clwyd. Look out for these guys playing across North Wales next year and a release of their first single is on the cards for the new year.

Another project we have running is ‘Blues Face’ a Music and Drama project for people experiencing mental health problems. The participants have been working on explores themes around stigma and mental health and are currently working on producing a Music video alongside their first single! So watch out for these guys on iTunes very soon.

And can you hear the young people rocking away in the hills of rural Wales! We are running an evening Music band workshop for Young People who are home educated or at school, the kids are songwriting, learning instruments, making friends and most of all having a great time!

We have 1-1 guitar lessons in peoples homes, creative communication workshops and their is so much going on in North Wales it is fantastic!

We are absolutely loving working and being in Wales and in the near future we will be looking to put down our roots on the beautiful countryside as a family and also as a business. We are currently looking for a suitable venue to call our Head Quarters so watch this space for the info!

As some of you will know we also have been working with an amazing Genie in the Gutterband project in Liverpool in partnership with the amazing . This is going so well and we are really looking forward to showing you some of the rehearsals all the way from Rodney Street in Liverpool!

And of course, Liverpool Music Makers, the project that has been running for 15 years! What an amazing bunch of people. Young people who have a variety of physical, emotional and learning needs comes together every week for an after school club of singing, making music and having a good laugh. Sara, Director , social worker and all round amazing woman, thank you so much for everything you have done for Music Makers and donating £500 toward the cost of hire for the room at Bridge Chapel. It is most appreciated.

So as you can see, we have a lot going on which is great. We are so happy that 2 years ago we decided- with support from all of our friends, family, professional acquaintances and of course our funders to go ahead and start Emerge Community Arts. We have achieved even more of what we set out to do in the first couple of years and are really excited about the plans for next year. Thanks to everyone for your support.
